A dance instructor will work closely with you to create a beautiful first dance together. From helping you select your music, preparing graceful entrances/exits to and from the dance floor, to understanding basic techniques that will make your dancing together more enjoyable. The memories you create on your wedding day will be cherished forever and the dance steps you learn will keep you dancing for a lifetime.

Dance Tips for the Bride and Groom

• Plan Ahead - Allow 3 to 5 months to learn, practice and perfect your dance. Remember that your schedule will get very hectic as your wedding day approaches. Don't wait until the last minute.


• Music - Select a romantic song with a beat that is easy to hear, preferably 2 - 2 ½ minutes in length.


• Practice Time - Remember the first dance is almost always recorded on a video that will be handed down through the years making it even more important to practice, practice, practice. The more you practice, the more comfortable you will feel on your wedding day.


• Popular Dances - Besides the traditional Foxtrot and the elegant Waltz, the Tango, Rumba, Salsa and Swing are all very popular at contemporary weddings.


• Wedding Dress - If your dress has sleeves, make sure you can comfortably raise your arms over your head for turns and spins. Also, check the length of your wedding dress to make sure you will not be stepping on it while dancing.


• Picture Poses - Create memorable photos by adding some sexy dips, turns, and spins to your dance.


• Size of Dance Floor - Find out the size of the reception dance floor then practice in that amount of space.


• Plan Where To Start - Plan where you will enter the dance floor and how to make a graceful entrance for your first dance.


• Plan the Ending - Plan what will happen after your dance. Will you invite everyone onto the dance floor, invite the members of the Bridal Party, or just your parents (and grandparents).


• Reception Dances - To add extra enjoyment to the occasion, consider learning dances for songs to be played during the reception or for the honeymoon.


• Bridal Party - Get everyone involved in this special time of joy and celebration by arranging a special group lesson for your family, friends and bridal party.
